Perry's Season-High Leads Coffeyville Past Neosho

Tylor Perry posted a season-hgh 28 points en route to another rout of Neosho County, this time at 95-66.

At first, it seemed as if the game would be a back and forth battle. The Panthers, who held a 7-3 record at home coming into the contest, kept up with Coffeyville's offense through outside shooting. Specifically, the scoring came from Cougar Downing, who nailed six first-half three-pointers to keep Neosho in the ballgame. However, the Red Ravens would employ their usual balanced scoring attack to take a 5-point halftime lead. Ten different Ravens would score during the first half.

The second half saw Neosho cool off quite a bit, while Coffeyville would find its second wind. Perry, who had 8 at the break, found open shot after open shot. He'd drain six threes over the course of the final 20 minutes, including this one with just a few minutes left to play. Adding on to two first-half trifectas, Perry finished with eight three-pointers and 28 points for the night, just one made three from tying the school record of nine. Coffeyville would easily coast for most of the half, shutting down Downing and leading scorer Magic Reliford to take the 29-point victory.

Coffeyville improves to 18-1 on the season and 16-1 in Jayhawk Conference play. Next up, we'll return to two-game action as both the men and women take on Cowley County. The women will tip-off at 5:30 pm, with pregame starting 15 minutes prior. Saturday's broadcast will also be held on Sonshine 98.9, KQQF due to prior commitments on KUSN.
