A former Caney Valley Bullpup made his NCAA Division I debut yesterday. Wichita State Freshman Jace Kaminska helped the shockers complete a 3-0 shutout of Oral Roberts. Kaminska entered the game in the 7th inning, pitching 1 1/3rd innings, facing 6 batters and striking out two on 35 pitches thrown.
Kaminska, who didn't get to a full Senior season due to COVID, set the consecutive strikeout record at Caney with 29 as a Junior. He had a 0.00 ERA his Junior year and a career ERA of 0.51. He also won Gatorade Player of the Year in 2019 and 2020.
