Cherryvale Wins Homecoming Game vs. Fredonia

 

Cherryvale was able to handle Fredonia with no problem as they won with a final score of 63-21.

 

Briggs Adkison led the way with 13 points for the Chargers with six points in the early portion of the first quarter. Landon Bennett, Devin Sawyer and Stetson Schafter all got 10 points apiece. Chargers Head Coach Rodney Vigil said after the game that he is happy that his team is spreading the ball around so well.

 

As for the Chargers' post players Kolbyn Hooper and Rayden Wright, Coach Vigil had nothing but praise for their performances.

 

Defensively, Cherryvale did a phenomenal job of aggressively guarding the ball and getting hands in the passing lanes. This ball pressure allowed the Chargers to create turnovers and plenty of fast-break opportunities.

 

Fredonia falls to 4-9 on the regular season and play at Leon-Bluestem next Tuesday. As for Cherryvale, they improved to 10-3 and have their final home game against Caney Valley Tuesday.
