KSHSAA Now Allowing Two Parents to Attend Winter Sports Contests

The Kansas State High School Activities Association once again went back on a previous decision Tuesday, deciding to allow up to two parents to attend winter sports contests through the month of January.

Despite a recommendation to postpone all winter activities until January 15, the KSHSAA executive board allowed winter sports to resume but with no fans in attendance at a previous meeting. However, the board voted 54-24 on Tuesday to allow up to two parents to attend each contest. These new rules will begin starting December 10 and will run through January 28. After that date, schools or leagues may make decisions for themselves.

Masks will be required for those who attend contests in person. Local school boards and county health departments, in addition, may instruct schools to have a fewer number of spectators if needed.
