KSHSAA Executive Board Recommends Postponing Winter Sports

The Kansas State High School Activities Association Executive Board has unanimously approved a proposal to push back the state date for the winter sports season.

As of now, the proposal would push the start date back to January 15th. Teams would be allowed to practice until December 22nd where appropriate, but the winter moratorium would be extended through January 3rd. During this time, no contact would be allowed between coaches, athletes or schools.

Under the proposal, basketball teams would be limited to 13 games each, and wrestling teams would be limited to 12 events, with a 20 competition point max.

You can find the full propsal, submitted by the executive board, here. The KSHSAA Board of Directors will discuss this proposal during a special meeting held virtually on November 24th at 1:00 pm.
