Sedan Eliminated After Loss to Chase County

Sedan's undefeated season came to an abrupt end Friday night, as the Blue Devils were defeated by Chase County 56-18.

It was known coming into the contest that both teams were strong offensively, but the Bulldogs simply overwhelmed the Sedan defense all night, including a 55-yard touchdown rush on the very first play of the game. Chase County quarterback Mitchell Budke rushed for three touchdowns, threw for one, and even returned an interception for a touchdown late in the second quarter.

Sedan would find some offense here and there, including a 33-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Eli Campbell to junior receiver Dameion Hatten. Campbell and Hatten would also connect for the game's longest offensive play, a 62-yard touchdown pass. However, Chase County would pull away early in the third quarter, and ultimately put the game out of reach to claim the regional title.

Sedan finishes its 2020 campaign with a record of 9-1 and a district title. With Sedan losing tonight and Oswego falling to Madison in other area action, Game of Week coverage has concluded for the year.
