SEK Schools Have Sold Day One at State Golf Tournaments

 

Day one of the girl's state golf tournaments is in the books as southeastern Kansas schools had a solid day on Monday.

 

In the 3-2-1A state tournament in Cheney, St. Mary's Colgan leads with a score of 357. Caney Valley is currently in fourth after shooting a 400 and is 12 strokes behind third-place Cimarron.

 

Anna Starbuck, a freshman from Colby High School, leads individually with an impressive score of 77, just five over par. SMC has four golfers in the top eight, and Caney Valley's Ava Freisberg led the Bullpups with a 94.

 

In 4A, Chanute is in sixth with a 394, but are just ten strokes out of fourth place. Chanute's Jerlyn Kustanborter shot an 85 and is in fourth place, individually.
