Bullpups Blank Lions

A week after the Caney Valley offense was on display, the defense was the star of the night as the Bullpups hammered Baxter Springs 44-0.

Junior running back Brec Williams scored in a variety of ways to lead the Bullpup attack. Williams first ran in a 54-yard touchdown where he scampered almost untouched down the left side of the field. He got into the end zone on the Lions ensuing possession by picking off a pass and returning for 100 yards down the right side of the field directing blockers on along the way to open up lanes. He found pay dirt again after hauling a 64-yard pass from DaRon Davis in the second quarter. Williams ended up with 164 yards of the Bullpups 257 yards of total offense.

Sophomore DaRon Davis not only threw for a touchdown but snagged three interceptions and returned one for a touchdown of 74 yards. The Bullpups moved to 6-1 on the season including 3-1 in district play. Caney returns home to host Columbus with a slew of playoff scenarios on the line.
