K-State head football coach Chris Klieman has agreed to a 6-year, $24 million contract Monday morning, according to Yahoo Sports.
His new deal increases his annual earning from $2.8 million to $4 million beginning in 2023. The new deal goes through 2026 while his original deal was set to expire in 2024. By then, Klieman will be getting $4.3 million per year which is the most a K-State coach has ever received.
Additionally, if K-State gets six wins and makes a bowl game this season, he will be extended to 2027.
The second-year coach has a record of 10-6 including two top-five upsets against Oklahoma and is currently tied for first place in the Big 12 at 2-0 in conference play.
