Montgomery County Falls Twice to Iola

The Montgomery County Cardinals suffered two consecutive losses to the Iola Indians on Tuesday, falling 10-4 in the first game and 14-7 in the runback.

The Cardinals could not find a handle to curb the offensive onslaught of the Indians, falling behind in the first inning of both games and playing catchup for the rest of the night. Iola racked up 20 hits across the two games, and scored at least 2 runs in 5 out of 6 innings in the second contest.

Ty Wintjen took the loss for the Cardinals in the first game, while Matthew Redden was the losing pitcher for the second game. Seth Martinez picked up two hits in the first game, the only Cardinal to record a multi-hit game for the night.

Montgomery County (10-9) will be back in action this Thursday for a doubleheader with Fredonia. Both games will be broadcast, much like the rest of the season, on Star 98.9, KQQF.
