The Kansas City Chiefs have exercised the fifth-year option on quarterback Patrick Mahomes' rookie contract locking him in at least through 2021.

The MVP and Super Bowl MVP QB is set to make an average of the top-10 quarterbacks in the league from the year prior.

KC has acknowledged that they are working to locking up Mahomes much longer than through 2021.
