Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Bashaud Breeland was arrested on Tuesday in York, South Carolina.
Breeland is facing five charges including resisting arrest, transporting alcohol in a motor vehicle with the seal broken, open container of beer or wine in a motor vehicle, possession of 28 grams or less of marijuana or 10 grams of hash and driving without a license.
The 28-year old Breeland resigned with KC on a one year deal worth over $4 million earlier this month and was an important piece on defense during the Chiefs' Super Bowl run.
The Chiefs say they are aware of the situation.
