Sedan Holds Off West Elk

It was a wild and close ball game on Tuesday night at Sedan high school between the Blue Devils and the visiting Patriots of West Elk with Sedan holding on for a 45-44 victory.

West Elk (8-9) got off to a fast start and led 15-7 after the first quarter but Sedan was able to battle back to only trail 22-20 at halftime.

It was back and forth with multiple lead changes in the second half with it coming down to the final possession of the game with the Patriots having the ball with under five seconds to go but they were unable to get a shot up before time expired.

The Blue Devils (10-6) win was big because both of these teams are in the same 2-A Sub State with a possible rematch looming in the first round in a couple of weeks.

Dameion Hatten led the way for Sedan with 18 points and 11 rebounds while Kaden Walker chipped in with 11 points.

Devin Loudermilk led the Patriots with 17 points while Caleb Walker added 13 points and four rebounds.

The next scheduled game of the week on KGGF will be on Tuesday, Feb. 21st with Caney Valley traveling to Erie.
