Cherryvale Wins Big at Neodesha

 

After a slow start to the first quarter at Neodesha, Cherryvale was able to open things up in the second quarter and blow away the Bluestreaks on Friday night, 75-34. 

 

The Chargers (5-2, 2-0) led 12-7 after the first quarter but was able to outscore Neodesha (2-4, 1-3) 24-12 in the second quarter to take a 36-19 lead at halftime. 

 

The third quarter was a monster one for the Chargers as they outscored the Bluestreaks 31-4 and completely took control the rest of the way. 

 

The Chargers were led in scoring by senior Zaine Lantz with 22 points and five rebounds while senior Gavin Hooper piled up a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Junior Kolbyn Hooper also finished in double figures with 11 points. 

 

Cherryvale outrebounded Neodesha 40-17 and forced the Bluestreaks into 22 turnovers. 

 

Neodesha was led in scoring by sophomore Maddux Johnson with 15 points. 

 

The next scheduled game of the week on 690 KGGF will be on Tuesday night as Erie travels to Caney Valley.
