There wasn't much resistance as the Coffeyville men's basketball team claimed its eighth victory of the season Friday night, defeating the Bethany JV 108-69. Coffeyville took the lead early and never let go, relying on several scorers throughout the night to cross the triple digit line. Meikkel Murray led all Red Ravens scorers with 22, including a thrilling alley-oop and another posterizing slam over a Bethany defender. For the Swedes, James Harrison led all scorers with 23 points, while Jalen Behr added 21 of his own.

Despite the nearly 40-point victory, Coach Jay Herkelman said the team would need to step it up in the coming weeks if the team is to succeed throughout conference play. The men will be back in action next week, traveling to Hutchinson to face a currently undefeated Hutchinson CC team.
