A missed extra point and a missed field goal doomed the Caney Valley Bullpups as they fell to the Galena Bulldogs 38-30 in a wild double overtime affair.

After a low scoring, penalty filled first half, both teams came out trading scores before Caney Valley took at 22-14 lead thanks to a fumble by Galena and a scoop and score by Eryk Kyser. However, a missed a extra point allowed Galena to tie the game at 22-22 with 34 seconds remaining.  Caney Valley quarterback Trey Ritchie then hit Kyser with a 60 yard bomb to set up the Bullpups up in field goal range with a 6 seconds remaining but Kyser missed the field goal to send the game into OT. The teams traded OT scores before Galena scored and knocked away a 4th down pass to the corner of the end zone to preserve the win.

Galena improved to 3-2 on the season and 1-1 in district play.  Caney Valley dropped to 3-2 and 0-2 in district play.
