Game Of The Week Goes To Cherryvale

For week 7 of our High school Football game of the week, we traveled to Cherryvale High School where the Chargers played host to Tri-Valley foe the Neodesha Bluestreaks. Neodesha winless on the year and have suffered quite a few injuries though head coach John Black had his guys prepared for the run attack from Cherryvale. The Chargers did a great job early on establishing a balanced play. SR. QB Cafe Addis connected with Zanie Lantz for a 35 TD in the first quarter giving them an early 6 point lead. Later through the first RB Garrett Novotny continued is dominance breaking a run down the right to put the Chargers than up 14 - 0 after the 2 point conversion. The Blue Streaks did a great job breaking down field shortly before halftime and getting points up on the board as they headed into the locker room down 8, 14 to 6. In the second half Novotny put in another TD on the ground along with the Defensive lineman McPherson intercepting the passing from Ellis and running it back 30 yards for the interception. That gave them a 28 to 6 lead at one point, where Neodesha head coach John Black flipped the game plan and let Ellis throw a bit more. Ellis did throw a few interceptions but Blue Streaks did get on the board once more before time expired losing 28 to 12. Doesn’t get any easier for the Blue Streaks having to play Fredonia next week, as the Cherryvale Charges will host Eureka for the final week.
