On six consecutive Fridays during November and December, Nowata City Hall will be closed to the public.

During last night's (Monday's) meeting of the Nowata City Commission, commissioners approved a proposal from City Manager Marie Gorley to close City Hall on Fridays for the next six weeks.

Gorley says the closure will allow city employees to reconcile accounts linked to the Sutterfield Financial Group.

Emergency services that operate through City Hall will still be accessible on days the building will be closed. Residents will still be able to report fires, water leaks and similar issues.
