Cherryvale Council Approves New Police Vehicle, Server Upgrades

The Cherryvale City Council approves a number of expenditures at this week's meeting.

Last night, the council met at the Logan Park Building after large crowds had packed the normal meeting room due to conversations on a potential data center. No business on data centers was discussed at this week's meeting. The council did approve the lease-purchase of a 2026 Dodge Durango for the Cherryvale Police Department to be paid over a 5 year term for a total just over $56,000.

Cherryvale Police Chief Nigel Flenar says the vehicle will purchased from the capital outlay fund.

Council members also approved a server upgrade for the city totaling just under $28,000. Officer Sean Ecret says the upgrade will be less expensive than trying to keep their current server running.

In other business, the council approved paying an invoice for motor repair for the main lift station at just over $10,000. The early closure of City Hall on Tuesday, November 17th was also approved to allow employees to attend a City Clerks and Municipal Finanance Officers Association Graduation. The next meeting will be held back at City Hall on November 16th.
