A juvenile suffers a minor injury after shots are fired into an occupied Parsons apartment.
Parsons Police officers respond shortly before 2:00am yesterday morning to the Mendota Creek Apartments in the 1400 block of South 25th Street. Officers find several rounds penetrated an exterior door and caused damage inside. Several people, including young children, were in the apartment. PPD says the juvenile’s injury reportedly came from debris rather than a bullet. The juvenile was taken to Labette Health with injuries that were not life-threatening. No other injuries are reported.
Investigators believe the shooting may be connected to an earlier altercation at another location in Parsons. PPD says the incident appears isolated. Anyone with information can call PPD at (620)421-7060 or the tip line at (620)421-7057.
