Coffeyville Recognizes Banners Hung Around Town Supporting Veterans

Coffeyville recognizes 160 veterans with ties to the community through a new military banner display.

Veterans, families and city officials gathered for a ceremony recognizing the project. 80 double-sided banners hang along 11th and Patterson streets. Jerry Wall led the effort through Coffeyville Military Banners in partnership with the City of Coffeyville. He says he has already had 40 people reach out to him about banners for next year. Representative Ron Bryce says each veteran represented has a story of service and sacrifice.

Families, donors and volunteers supported the project, with city employees hanging the banners. Bryce says the display sends a message of gratitude to those who served.  The banners remain on display throughout November. Information about the project and honoring a veteran is available at cvillemilitarybanners.org.
