An outgoing Kansas state lawmaker has passed away.
District 7 Representative Dan Goddard of Parsons passed away on Thursday. The Republican lawmaker was serving out his final term in the Kansas State House after deciding to retire earlier this year. Goddard had served two terms for District 7, which covers parts of Labette and Neosho counties.
He had previously served in the Kansas Senate for the 15th District from 2017 to 2021 before losing his re-election bid to current Senator Virgil Peck.
Goddard was 78 years old.
