Wilson County Rural Fire has a busy Halloween weekend as crews respond to multiple calls.

The first call of the weekend came in just after midnight on Saturday morning as fire crews were dispatched to extinguish a small brush fire at the mill dam.

Another early morning fire call was made to the Department around 2:40am on Sunday after reports of a utility pole on fire near Coyville.

About twelve hours later, Wilson County firefighters joined the Neodesha Fire Department in response to a structure fire in Altoona, where crews found a small fire on the exterior of a house.

Around 4:45pm on Sunday, crews were paged again, this time to a two-vehicle accident on K-47 on the east side of Wilson County to assist with safety and traffic control. No details were given as to injuries to those involved.

Reports of another small fire came in around 6pm Sunday. On the scene, firefighters found a hay bale on fire next to a utility pole just east of Fredonia.
