The Parsons Police Department earns a national award.
The department recently received the FBI-LEEDA Agency Trilogy Award. The award is a prestigious recognition presented by the Law Enforcement Executive Development Association to law enforcement agencies that demonstrate a sustained, department-wide commitment to professional leadership development. Chief Robert Spinks says it's an honor earned by only a few departments.
All five members of its command staff completed the organization’s three-part leadership training program. Police Chief Robert Spinks, Deputy Chief Dennis Dodd, and Lieutenants Sherri McGuire, Kyle Wiford, and Jason Ludwig each completed 15 days of advanced leadership instruction, totaling 75 days and 120 hours of training for the department’s command staff. Chief Spinks says the award reflects the department’s commitment to developing better leaders, making better decisions, and providing better service to the community.
The department also earned Kansas Law Enforcement Accreditation Program accreditation in 2026.
The department says the recognition reinforces its commitment to professionalism, accountability, and public service.
