An Independence man is dead following a motorcycle/car collision on Tuesday in Independence.

The accident claimed the life of 64-year-old Ricky Jakee. Jakee was driving a 1997 Harley-Davidson motorcycle northbound on Penn Avenue around 1:15 Tuesday afternoon. At the intersection of Oak Street, a southbound 2005 Ford driven by 62-year-old Henry Bruhn, also of Independence, failed to yield while making a left turn.

The two vehicle collided, causing fatal injuries to Jakee.

The other driver was uninjured.
