Wilson Co. Commission Increases County Fee for Driver's Licenses/ID Cards

The Wilson County Commission approves a fee increase for Kansas driver’s licenses and identification cards, along with more than 46-thousand dollars in bridge decking.

During its recent meeting, commissioners approved a resolution increasing the county’s fee for driver’s licenses and ID cards from two dollars to four dollars. The change will go into effect on November 1st.

The commission also approved a $46,000 purchase of bridge decking as the Road and Bridge Department discussed pending repairs at 1000 Road and Chase Road, and also at 900 Road and Wichita Road.

Commissioners also heard a request to reopen a portion of Lane Road, north of 300 Road. Following discussion, the group favored having adjacent property owners obtain private road access easements rather than reopening the road to public traffic. The road has been closed since 1888.

County Clerk Kayla Busch also reported that 107 people have voted in-person so far in advance voting for the November 3rd general election. Busch also stated that she was in the process of completing the November tax abstract.
