The Montgomery County Commission announces its support for a second economic development project.
At last week’s special meeting, commissioners voted in favor of supporting an initiative known as Project Fun Town. At this week’s meeting, a similar announcement was made in support of a proposal called Project Pooh Bear. As with last week’s announcement, no details were given on the project, except that the effort is being led by the Montgomery County Action Council. Commissioner Robert Bever says the commission continues to stand behind MCAC.
Bever says the County must continue to pursue economic development.
In other business, commissioners approved an agreement with Kansas Workforce One, a development board whose goal is to connect employers to workers. Commissioners also approved a bid of just over $36,000 from E-E-S, L-L-C, of Gardner, Kansas, for bridge inspections.
It was also announced that the county courthouse will close at 2pm on Friday for the Neewollah Kiddie Parade.
