Coffeyville residents will have an opportunity to get rid of unwanted items next week as the city holds Clean-Up Coffeyville Week.
The event runs Monday through Saturday of next week, with bulk trash disposal, household hazardous waste collection and a prescription drug take-back event. Coffeyville City Clerk Melissa Carter says the city will provide dumpsters for residents to dispose of unwanted items.
The tree dump is located near First and Union. Drop-off hours are Monday through Friday from 10:00am to 6:00pm and Saturday from 8:00am to 3:00pm. Furniture, appliances and residential building materials will be accepted, but tires and regular household trash will not. The city is also providing a separate collection site for materials that cannot be thrown away with regular trash. Carter says several types of household chemicals will be accepted.
Clean-Up Week also includes an opportunity for residents to safely dispose of medications they no longer need. Carter says the prescription drug take-back event will accept several types of medications. The drug take-back event is Saturday, October 24th, from 10:00am to 2:00pm at the Coffeyville Police Department.
