Emergency crews in Elk County are called to the scene of an early morning vehicle fire in Howard.

The initial call came in around 5:30 this morning as a report of a cattle truck on fire near the intersection of K-99 and Washington in Howard. Traffic control was also requested in the area to assist with some school buses . The fire was successfully extinguished with no injuries to the driver or to the cattle reported.

However, crews remained on the scene to remove the burned vehicle and to retrieve the loose cattle that were freed from the truck by the driver.
