A criminal justice degree could be just one year away for some Coffeyville Community College graduates.

A new agreement with Newman University lets graduates transfer up to 60 credit hours toward a bachelor’s degree. Newman may award up to 30 additional hours for training and experience, including police academy training, military service and professional certifications. Depending on the credits awarded, that could leave about 30 hours to finish.

CCC graduates admitted to the program receive a $20,000 Newman scholarship. Online and hybrid classes are available for students who are working while they complete the degree.
