Fall harvest season is here, and that can mean more farm equipment on roadways.

Wildcat Extension District Diversified Agriculture and Natural Resource Agent Adaven Rohling says this will include tractors and other heavy equipment.  Most farm equipment is not designed to travel at highway speeds and may only travel 15 to 25mph. Rohling says it is important to slow down and have some patience with tractors and combines.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says to wait for a clear view before passing, and never pass in a no-passing zone. A farm vehicle moving right may be preparing for a wide left turn into a field or driveway.  Drivers should slow down when they see a slow-moving vehicle emblem and give farm equipment room to turn.
