A Woodson County man is dead after a weekend ATV accident.
56-year-old John Mattox of Leroy, Kansas, suffered fatal injuries on Saturday evening when his 4-wheeled ATV overturned on 200th Road, about 11 miles northeast of Yates Center. The accident occurred around 6:30pm near the intersection with Tadpole Road. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Mattox had just exited the ditch along the roadway when his vehicle overturned in the middle of the highway.
He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
