The Coffeyville Fire Department is set to receive grant funding to help with the purchase of vital safety equipment.

CFD has been awarded just over $229,000 in federal funding through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program. The money will be used to replace the department's aging Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus. The equipment gives firefighters respiratory protection when responding to fires and other hazardous environments. The grant also requires a local match of $11,000.
