The Independence Lions Club is inviting the public to enjoy a spaghetti supper this Saturday, September 26th, to raise funds for the club’s numerous local projects.
The benefit supper will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church's Wesley Center at 6th and Maple in Independence.
A suggested donation of $10 will allow attendees to enjoy a plate of spaghetti with meat sauce, salad, bread and a drink.
The Independence Lions Club, which celebrates its 104th anniversary in 2026, has elevated its support for local projects. Most recently, the local club instigated a fund campaign to raise money for the replacement of a new walk-in freezer unit for the Community Access Center.
Other projects that receive support from the Independence Lions Club included the Independence Children’s Summer Theatre, Adopt-A-Family, American Red Cross blood drives, New Life Baptist Church’s Clothing Closet, Independence Recreation Commission, Imagination Library, Independence Historical Museum and Art Center’s annual youth art competition, Kiddy Land at Riverside Park, Independence High School music departments, IHS scholarships, and much more.
