The Galesburg Fire Department receives a grant from a local Masonic group.

 

Fire officials have received $5,000 in grant funding from Masonic Lodge #117 located in Parsons through the Masonic Lodge Foundation. Galesburg Fire plans to use the funding to improve equipment, improving the departments ability to keep firefighters safe while continuing to serve the community.

 

Galesburg Fire officials say they have also received a grant to allow Fire Chief John Lilburn to attend the Kansas State Association of Fire Chiefs Conference in Kansas City in October.

 

The Department has received nearly $265,000 in grants over the past three years.
