Three people, including one child, are seriously injured when a pickup truck collides with an Amish buggy near Fort Scott.

The accident occurred around 7:30 on Monday night on K-7 about 4 ½ miles northwest of Fort Scott. 60-year-old Carol Adamson of Fort Scott was traveling southbound on K-7 in a 2008 GMC Sierra 2500 when she approached a slower moving buggy on the roadway. The pickup then struck the buggy from behind. The three occupants of the buggy all suffered serious injuries. They have been identified as 65-year-old Christopher Yoder, 34-year-old Willard Yoder, and a 6-year-old female child, all of Fort Scott.

All three were taken to Freeman Hospital in Joplin for treatment for their injuries.
