The Nowata County Commissioners extend the county-wide burn ban an additional two weeks.

The commissioners decided to extend the burn ban due to a lack of county-wide rain. The item was brought up in emergency business after being inadvertently left off of the agenda the last two weeks.  With cooler temperatures and rain expected in the forecast, firefighters say they expect the ban will be lifted at next week's meeting.

In other business, the commissioners approved the beginning of the process for a bid on county property.
