Two people are arrested in separate incidents in Independence.

 

The first incident occurred on September 4 when Independence police officers wer asked to conduct a welfare check. 60-year-old Michael Downing was arrested after Independence police officers were called to the 100 block of Peter Pan Road. Downing faces charges including Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer, Criminal Threat, and Fleeing and Eluding.

 

The second arrest took place on September 6 following a domestic incident. 25-year-old Trayce Justice was taken into custody after I-P-D officers were called to the 600 block of West Walnut Street in Independence for a domestic disturbance. Justice was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on charges of kidnapping, endangering a child, and aggravated domestic battery.

 

Both incidents remain under investigation.
