The Independence Public Library welcomes Humanities Kansas guest speaker Murl Reidel.

Reidel will speak tonight at the library about the impacts of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan on Kansas soldiers. Reidel is a fiscal analyst and a retired major from the Kansas Army National Guard. He will discuss methods for collecting, recording, and preserving modern wartime stories before they are lost to time.

The presentation begins tonight at 6pm at the Independence Public Library. Admission is free.
