The Caney City Council votes to make a slight increase to the mill levy and exceed the revenue neutral rate by 3 mills.
The vote came in last night's Caney City Council meeting.
Caney City Administrator Andrea Sibley says that the slight increase was necessary to keep the budget numbers the same.
In other business, the city officials declined to comment on the Carl Hempel case, as it is now going through the legal process.
The next Caney City Council meeting will be on Monday, September 21, at 6:30 p.m.
