Allen County extends its burn ban through next Monday.
Allen County originally issued the burn ban on Monday, August 31, and it was set to expire this afternoon. However, the Allen County Commission has extended the ban through Monday, September 7th, at midnight.
The ban includes all open burning including campfires, trash, or any controlled burning of grass, brush, or weeds.
Fires will still be allowed in permanent stoves, fireplaces or barbecue grills. Prescribed burning may be conducted with the written permission of Allen County Sheriff Anthony Maness.
Residents are asked to use caution to avoid accidentally sparking a fire.
