The City of Caney enters a Stage One Water Watch because of ongoing drought conditions.
The watch takes effect immediately. City officials say water flowing over the river dam has diminished to a small amount, leaving little excess water available for non-essential use. Residents are asked to reduce outdoor watering and use water efficiently inside their homes.
Suggested conservation measures include taking shorter showers, turning off faucets when they are not needed and washing only full loads of dishes and laundry. The City is also asking residents to avoid other unnecessary water use as it works to protect Caney’s water supply.
