CRMC Adds Training Simulator

Coffeyville Regional Medical Center adds a new patient-simulation manikin for clinical training.

The simulator allows nurses, doctors and other staff to practice responding to code blue events, airway emergencies and other medical situations. The purchase was funded through a Kansas Department of Health and Environment grant and the Dr. and Mrs. Chan S. Han Family Fund.

CRMC says the equipment will support programs that help healthcare professionals transition into new roles, including licensed practical nurses becoming registered nurses and phlebotomists becoming medical laboratory assistants. The funding also provided additional educational materials, an AccuVein locator for difficult I-V placements and fetal-monitoring course materials for Women’s Health employees.
