Grants Help CRMC Purchase Neonatal Cardiac Monitor

Coffeyville Regional Medical Center purchases a new neonatal cardiac monitor with help from two grants.

Funding was provided by the Rita J. Bincknell Women’s Health Fund and the Coffeyville Area Community Foundation. The monitor is used to assess newborns who are unresponsive or have no heartbeat at birth. It meets Neonatal Resuscitation Program guidelines and is approved by the American Heart Association and American Academy of Pediatrics.

CRMC Women’s Health Director Jennifer Winjten says the grants help the hospital purchase expensive equipment needed to care for newborns. The Coffeyville Area Community Foundation provided additional funding after the initial grant did not cover the full cost.
