A Cherokee County man is arrested following a police pursuit that ended at Downstream Casino.

Galena Police responded to Casey’s around 11:45pm last night for a report of a disorderly customer who allegedly stole merchandise. GPD says the suspect drove away and refused to stop for officers. Cherokee County deputies joined the pursuit, which ended after officers blocked the vehicle in the casino parking lot. The driver, identified as David Chad Palmer, resisted arrest before being taken into custody.

Galena Police submitted requested charges including aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, fleeing or attempting to elude, reckless driving, theft, interference with law enforcement and disorderly conduct. Palmer was taken to the Cherokee County Jail.
