The Coffeyville City Commission will meet tonight and discuss applications for two grant opportunities.
The first resolution commissioners will consider is one that would authorize the City of Coffeyville to apply for $1 million Technical Assistance Grant from the Kansas Water Office for the Coffeyville Flood Risk Management Study. The City would be asked to provide up to $500,000 in matching funds. The remainder of the funding would come from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. City Manager Ben Brubaker spoke yesterday before the Montgomery County Commission to request a letter of support to aid the City in obtaining approval of the grant application.
Commissioners will also be asked to accept a $856,000 KDOT Transportation Alternatives grant, and approve the estimated $213,000 City match. The project will construct about 2.08 miles, of sidewalk along Norwood, Highland, Edgewood, Ohio, and Northfield. It will also include ADA curb ramps, a high-visibility crosswalk at Northfield and Ohio, and a pedestrian refuge island on South Cline.
Tonight's meeting begins at 6:30pm in the Commission Room in Coffeyville's City Hall. The public is invited to attend in person or to view the meeting online via the City of Coffeyville YouTube channel.
