The City of Independence will receive state funding for improvements to a local roadway through through the Kansas Department of Transportation's City Connecting Link Improvement or C-CLIP Program.?
Independence has been awarded $400,000 through the C-CLIP program for a resurfacing project on US-160. The total cost of the project is just over $530,000.
In Labette County, the City of Parsons was also awarded $1.5 million for a pavement restoration project on US-59.
The grants were announced on Tuesday, August 18, by Governor Laura Kelly. They are two of 32 projects across the state that will share in $24.1 million to improve transportation across Kansas.
