The Independence Police Department is warning drivers to slow down as they enter the city on South 10th Street.
The department has received several complaints about speeding in the area. IPD says the speed limit drops to 30mph before drivers reach the city limits. Officers have recently monitored South 10th Street and observed a significant number of vehicles traveling well above the posted limit.
Drivers are asked to watch for speed limit signs and slow down before entering the city.
