The City of Independence approves the final version of its 2026 through 2036 Community-Based Strategic Plan.

 

At last week's city commission meeting, Mackey Smith with Vickrey Leadership Solutions presented the final draft version of the plan that his company has been working on since January. Smith says the plan focuses on priorities over the next decade with an emphasis on economic development as well as housing, infrastructure and quality of life.

 

Smith adds that the plan was designed with input from Independence citizens.

 

Commissioner Scott Smith says he thinks the new plan will serve the City well.

 

Commissioners approved the final plan on a unanimous vote.
