Good crowds turned out for the Labette and Wilson County fairs last night as a busy fair season continues in southeast Kansas.

 

World Champion Auctioneer Blaine Lotz of Edna helped with the livestock premium auction at the Labette County Fair and says he's pleased with the turnout.

 

Exhibitor Lucy Pearson showed her horse, dairy goats and calves at the fair and says there's one thing that's kept her coming back each year.

 

The Labette County Fair continues Saturday in Oswego with the demo derby at 8 p.m. A watermelon feed will be at 1 at the Wilson County Fair in Fredonia followed by the critter parade and dog ability at 1:30 and the beef show at 6.

 

At the Chautauqua County Fair, the day will start out Saturday with a parade around 10 a.m. followed by a BBQ contest at noon and the livestock premium sale at 6 p.m.

 

The Montgomery County 4-H Fair in Independence will continue Saturday with a bucket calf show at 9:30, plus a poultry show at 10, talent show at 1 and goat and sheep shows starting at 7. KGGF staff will broadcast live from the fair Saturday morning from 9 to 11 on The Mighty 690.

 

The Neosho County Fair will continue in Erie, and activities Saturday include a bucket calf, beef and poultry show at 8 a.m., followed by a dog show at 4 and celebrity showman ship at 7 followed by live entertainment. KGGF will broadcast live Saturday from 5 to 7 on Classic Hits 104.1.
